Strange News From Brazil

Not that Brazil is ever lacking her share of mentions from the international news. There was the, often proudly reported, news of the country’s economic progress, due largely to the masterful leadership of her former President, Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva, who led the country from January 1, 2003 until 31 December 2010.
In recent times, the two domineering news were the 2014 World Cup, due to be held in Brazil and the Olympics and Paralympic Games, also awarded to the city of Rio-de-Janeiro for 2016.
The laudable projects notwithstanding, a few weirred news have emerged. The country is the latest provider of a `horrible' news about a heartless operation, and theft of baby from the womb.
Odete Barreto (pictured) was reported to have been lured away into the privacy of Daiana dos Santos' room with the promise of gifts for her baby, only to be attacked and operated upon, by her assailant who stole the baby. She had earlier been told she was not pregnant by medical doctors.
In 2010, a little boy was afflicted by a couple who shut, by strange means, 50 safety pins into his body, including some that went too close to his heart. The couple later confessed after arrest, that they used voodoo means to shoot the pins in.
Hmmm. What more shall we say for our world. Let there be love, please!
